Job Summary
The Part-Time Boys Basketball Development Coach will work with middle school student-athletes to introduce and develop foundational basketball skills while fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. This role emphasizes player growth for athletes new to the sport and ensures a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.
Responsibilities

Plan and conduct practices that focus on fundamental skill development and sportsmanship.

Provide mentorship and encouragement to athletes learning the game.

Supervise student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being during practices.

Foster a positive, inclusive team environment.

Attend all scheduled practices during the season.
Requirements

Prior coaching or playing experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of basketball rules, fundamentals, and development techniques.

Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes and parents.

Commitment to promoting teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Physical ability to handle high-energy environments and training demands.

Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment over 40 lbs.

Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
Season Details

Duration: Late October through late January.

Schedule: Practices held two days per week.

Breaks: No practices during exams or the holiday break (approximately December 11January 5).
