Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee daily maintenance and repair needs across our marine water-maker production facility, marine service company, and showroom. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping our buildings, grounds, and equipment in top condition and can perform a wide range of hands-on tasks — from basic repairs and AC upkeep to pressure cleaning and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance, including general maintenance of AC, minor plumbing repairs (e.g., leaking faucets, overflowing toilets), and routine upkeep of the facilities.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including filter replacement and system cleaning.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, and facility issues as needed.
- Maintain grounds appearance — including trash removal, sweeping, cleaning walkways, and pressure cleaning sidewalks, patios, and exterior surfaces.
- Support equipment maintenance for shop tools, compressors, and other mechanical systems used in marine production and service.
- Paint walls, doors, and exterior structures as needed for annual facility upkeep.
- Monitor and address water leaks or moisture issues, ensuring prompt response to minimize impact.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger repairs or specialized services.
- Maintain, oversee, and work to ensure best value of all contracts with vendors for multiple facilities.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure all work areas and storage areas are kept organized, clean, and safe.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of general maintenance experience (industrial, commercial, or facility setting preferred).
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment (pressure washer, hand tools, ladders, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and self-motivation with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in South Florida conditions.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or service facility environment.
- Basic understanding of safety and environmental compliance standards.
