Job Description
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to prepare and serve meals in a licensed treatment center. The ideal candidate understands the importance of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in a healthcare-regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements
Serve meals on time and in proper portions
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen at all times
Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using approved sanitation methods
Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and storage areas
Properly store food items in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas
Remove trash and recycling daily
Monitor food inventory and report shortages
Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation standards
Comply with health department, DCF, AHCA, and facility policies
Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
Qualifications
Valid ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Manager certification (required)
Previous cooking experience required (healthcare or institutional setting preferred)
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
