Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Painter for our evening shift at our Jacksonville, FL, facility. Join us to become part of an innovative team at the forefront of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Painter, you will play a critical role by:
- Operating paint shop equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and spray guns.
- Safely selecting and using rigging equipment for overhead lifts (training and certification provided).
- Wearing respiratory protection as required by Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations (testing and certification provided).
- Mixing paint and handling materials based on job specifications.
- Reviewing Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) to determine appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for handling paints and related materials.
- Handling and transporting hazardous waste following all safety standards (training and certification provided).
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Competencies:
- Strong adherence to safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Team-oriented with excellent attention to detail.
- Work Environment:
- Frequent exposure to high noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Safety-sensitive role involving daily movement of heavy components using cranes and forklifts.
- Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing throughout the day.
- Frequently lifting or moving items over 50 pounds, with a maximum limit of 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must meet OSHA requirements for respirator use, as determined by a licensed healthcare professional.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.
- Travel: None required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3-6 months of painting experience, trade schooling, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
