An opportunity is available for a dedicated Social Worker/Intervention Therapist to provide essential mental health services within a K-12 school setting. This contract position, based in Bonita Springs, FL, requires on-site commitment and will involve working with students across various schools, supporting their social and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based individual and group counseling services to students identified with mental health needs.
• Employ verbal de-escalation techniques to manage crisis situations effectively, utilizing approaches tailored for children and adolescents.
• Collaborate with classroom teams, including teachers and paraprofessionals, to ensure coordinated support.
• Prepare relevant sections of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including data collection and progress monitoring.
• Conduct thorough mental health appraisals covering psycho/social/behavioral functioning, and develop appropriate remediation plans based on accepted research practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required (Psychologists not considered).
• Minimum of two years experience working with children and families, with demonstrated ability to perform mental health assessments and intervention planning.
• Florida Department of Education Certification in social work, or licensure as a clinical social worker or licensed mental health provider under Chapter 491, F.S.
• Alternatively, candidates with the required Masters degree must register as a Mental Health Counselor Intern within six months of hire, receive supervision from a Qualified Supervisor, and obtain clinical licensure within three years.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 35 hours per week, typically 7 hours per day.
• Caseload: Assigned schools and student population may vary.
