Set-Up Mechanic

Job Description: Are you a skilled mechanic with a knack for precision and troubleshooting? Join our team as a Set-Up Mechanic, where you'll play a vital role in preparing and maintaining dies to ensure our production meets the highest standards. Your expertise will keep our machinery running smoothly and our products flawless.

Responsibilities:

• Job Preparation: Set up jobs on press according to work orders, ensuring everything is ready for production.
• Machine Set-Up: Verify materials, metals, and thickness, and set up press machines to produce parts accurately.
• Maintenance: Clean and lubricate machinery to keep it in top working condition.
• Quality Inspections: Check parts for proper tolerances and blemishes through visual inspections.
• Press Machine Operation: Set up press machines prior to operation to ensure parts are produced correctly.

Essential Skills:

• Experience: 2+ years of mechanic or industrial maintenance experience.
• Hand Tools: 2+ years of experience using hand tools.
• Blueprint Reading: 1+ year of experience reading blueprints.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in machine set-up, mechanically inclined, die change, and changeover.
• Inspection Tools: Experience with calipers, micrometers, press machines, press operations, and stamping presses.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Production Experience: 2+ years of prior experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
• Attention to Detail: Competencies in attention to detail, time management, and ability to visually inspect parts for imperfections.
• Measurement Tools: Ability to use production gauges and experience with measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
• Math Skills: Basic math skills (arithmetic and fractions).
• HVAC experience: Prior exposure to HVAC is beneficial.
• Tools: Must have own basic tools.

Work Environment:

Our spacious facility in Pompano Beach spans over 278,000 square feet. The shift is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks. Flexibility for occasional Saturday work or extended hours may be required. The production floor is not air-conditioned and is a loud environment with stamping press machines. PPE is required, including steel toe boots (not provided), safety glasses, rubber boots, apron, gloves, and optional hearing protection. You'll be working in an environment with moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises, along with operating equipment risks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
