Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Responder in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols and maintain a highly visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with professionalism, communicate clearly with riders and staff, and document security-related observations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and surrounding exterior areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing scene control and requesting law enforcement and/or medical assistance as needed.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with crowd management during peak travel times and special events.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and evidentiary documentation, and communicate observations to site leadership and public agency partners per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
