About the Opportunity
We are looking for an energetic, and ambitious General Manager to lead an established, limited-service hotel. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven hospitality professional who is ready to take ownership of an older property, elevate performance, and grow into future leadership opportunities within newer and more modern hotels in our portfolio.
If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, building a strong team culture, and making a visible impact, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Provide hands-on leadership to all hotel departments (front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B where applicable).
- Recruit, train, coach, and motivate a diverse team to deliver consistent, high-quality guest service.
- Lead by example on the front line, modeling professionalism, positivity, and strong work ethic.
- Foster a collaborative, fun, and performance-driven culture with clear expectations and accountability.
Guest Experience
- Ensure a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for all guests.
- Monitor guest feedback (online reviews, surveys, direct comments) and respond promptly and professionally.
- Resolve guest concerns quickly and effectively, turning potential issues into positive experiences.
- Develop and implement service standards to consistently improve guest satisfaction scores.
Operations & Property Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of an older property, with a focus on improving condition, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Work closely with maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed and issues are resolved quickly.
- Support and help implement property improvement plans (PIPs), small renovations, and cosmetic upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, company policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
Revenue Management & Sales
- Collaborate with revenue management and/or ownership to optimize rates, occupancy, and RevPAR.
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports and take action to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
- Identify local sales and partnership opportunities (corporate accounts, events, local businesses) to drive room nights.
- Develop and execute local marketing initiatives to increase visibility and demand.
Financial Management
- Manage the hotel’s P&L, controlling expenses and maximizing profitability.
- Prepare and review forecasts, budgets, and financial reports with ownership/leadership.
- Monitor labor, inventory, and operating supplies to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Implement systems and controls to prevent loss, waste, and inefficiency.
People & Brand Representation
- Build strong relationships with team members, guests, vendors, and the local community.
- Represent the hotel and company brand with professionalism and integrity.
- Champion company values and promote a positive, inclusive environment for all employees.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of progressive hotel experience (Front Office Supervisor, Assistant GM, Operations Manager, or similar).
- Previous limited-service hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required; experience managing a team is a plus.
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS), revenue tools, and basic hotel reporting.
- Strong comfort level working in an older property and being part of its improvement and turnaround.
Skills & Attributes
- High energy, positive attitude, and a strong desire to grow in your hospitality career.
- Hands-on, “lead from the front” management style.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, especially under pressure.
- Solid understanding of hotel operations, guest service standards, and basic financials (P&L, budgeting, forecasting).
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
Growth & Development
This role is designed for someone who wants to grow with us.
- Opportunity to start by leading an established, older property and gain full operational ownership.
- Clear pathway to future roles at newer, renovated, or flagship properties within our portfolio based on performance.
- Ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development from senior leadership.
- Potential for expanded multi-property responsibilities over time.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary.
- Performance-based bonus potential.
- Health, dental, and vision benefits.
- Paid time off and holidays.
