Job Description

Develop and maintain detailed work order instructions and manufacturing templates aligned with engineering documents and specifications. Update templates and bills of materials (BOMs) to reflect design, material, or process changes, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret and validate technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for planning documentation. Translate engineering drawings and BOMs into actionable manufacturing plans and collaborate with procurement, engineering, and quality teams to resolve planning conflicts and ensure smooth workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
  • Identify and implement ERP process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation manufacturing standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA regulations).
  • Print and issue work orders (WOs) and manufacturing orders (MOs), ensuring accurate, timely release in line with production priorities.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Operations Managers to manage workflow priorities and project assignments, offering planning guidance as needed.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain production schedules.
  • Support the development of planning methodologies and best practices to drive process optimization and operational efficiency.
  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders on project status, changes to work instructions, and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve production-related issues and implement robust solutions.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of work instructions, templates, and BOMs to ensure accuracy and alignment with quality standards.
  • Train and guide junior and intermediate planners in document control, project planning, and cross-functional communication.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean practices, waste reduction, and process efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and planning records, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay current on industry developments, manufacturing technologies, and regulatory changes, integrating relevant updates into planning processes.

Essential Skills

  • ERP systems expertise, including SAP, Oracle, Epicor, and Infor.
  • Production planning and scheduling proficiency.
  • Technical writing skills for translating drawings into work orders.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, capacity planning, and production control methods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in production planning within the manufacturing industry, preferably in aerospace or aviation.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Quantum.
  • Understanding of aviation manufacturing standards such as AS9100 and FAA regulations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooksville, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
