Key Responsibilities:
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Understanding construction plans to ensure accurate building of structures.
- Measuring and Cutting Materials: Accurately measuring and cutting lumber and other materials to specifications.
- Framing Structures: Assembling floor joists, ceiling joists, studs, and bearing walls.
- Erecting Frameworks: Building the structural framework of buildings, including walls, floors, and roofs.
- Installing Structural Supports: Placing beams and posts for structural support.
- Ensuring Compliance: Adhering to building codes and safety standards throughout the construction process.
- Using Tools: Operating a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and nail guns.
- Inspecting Materials: Checking for defects in materials to ensure quality and durability.
- Performing Repairs: Making necessary repairs to existing structures.
Requirements:
- 5 years of verifiable work history in rough carpentry
- Tools for the trade such as hammer drill, skill saw, hand tools, and safety harness
- Experience with wood carpentry
- Reliable means of transportation
