Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead’s Summer STEAM Teacher is the passionate, energetic, positive teacher leading daily lessons and keeping STEAM engaging, fun, and organized. They work well with a team, have great rapport with students and families, and are above all an outstanding educator. They have a background in education and have experience working with children in various contexts. They can follow a lesson plan well and generate their own ideas for meeting their students' needs within a lesson.
Key Responsibilities

Teaching STEM classes and/or Art classes (both preferred)

Preparing for lessons ahead of time using preset lesson plans

Working flexibly within the curriculum to ensure all students’ needs are met

Organizing and cleaning the classroom space and common space
-
Ensuring “STEAM Culture” is always evident and encouraged

Communicating regularly with all stakeholders (staff, students, families, administration) via email and in person

Effectively managing student behaviors with minimal intervention
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Education, Psychology, Family Studies, or related field preferred)

Preferred 1+ year of experience as a teacher in a traditional classroom setting OR 2 years in a non-traditional setting

Strong organizational time-management skills

Knowledge of Creative STEAM Curriculum

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting families

Availability to work full-time, on-site hours during summer
Schedule
The Summer STEAM Teacher works from 8am - 4:30pm OR from 8:30am - 5pm and may be responsible for opening or closing, per the site director’s scheduling needs. 40 hours per week are expected during summer, at least 4 weeks during summer.
