Job Description:
Express Employment Professionals in Fort Lauderdale is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to join a recycling facility.

This role involves operating front-end loaders (Volvo) and material handlers (Liebherr/Sennebogen) to safely move, load, and organize scrap metal and other yard materials.

We’re seeking a safety-focused and reliable operator with prior heavy equipment experience.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime and some Saturdays as needed

Responsibilities:

Safely operate loaders and/or material handlers
Load/unload containers and trailers
Move scrap metal and organize yard materials
Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, cleaning, lubricating)
Report issues or repairs to supervisor
Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
1+ year operating heavy equipment (front-end loaders or material handlers preferred)
Experience in recycling, waste, or demolition industries a plus
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Reliable, hardworking, and safety-minded
