Position Summary:
Manages all activities related to pharmaceutical management within the Pharmacy Department. Enforces rules and regulations of the hospital and department. Develops, implements, and revises departmental policies and procedures. Assures the efficient delivery of quality medications and IV products and services to all patients. Develops all training for Pharmacy personnel. Performs annual performance reviews. Ensures that department is professionally maintained and ensures compliance with state, federal, and TJC regulations and standards. Develops and evaluates all Controlled Substance distributive procedures and assures compliance with such. Responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical inventory. Supervises Pharmacy Supervisors, Pharmacists, and Supportive personnel. Reports to the Director of Pharmacy.
Position Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate Pharmacy Degree, preferred.
- Five (5) years of hospital experience, required.
- Three (3) years supervisory/managerial experience, preferred.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills, required.
- Good organizational skills, preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Florida Registered Pharmacist licensure, required.
- Florida Consultant Pharmacist licensure, preferred.
- ASHP-Accredited Pharmacy Residency training, preferred.
- BCPS (Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist) certification, preferred.
