Position Summary
We are seeking a Customer-Service-Driven Counter Clerk to join our team at our drop-off dry-cleaning store. This position is ideal for someone friendly, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping people look their best. You will be the first and last point of contact for our customers — greeting them, checking in their garments, explaining our services, and ensuring a smooth pick-up process.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet customers with a warm, professional attitude and provide excellent service at all times.
• Explain available services (dry cleaning, wash & fold laundry, hand pressing, alterations, etc.).
• Check in customer garments accurately using our point-of-sale system (identify item type, brand, fabric, stains, and any special instructions).
• Tag and organize incoming garments for cleaning and processing.
• Handle payments, receipts, and customer records accurately.
• Assist customers with pick-ups, ensuring orders are complete, clean, and ready.
• Maintain a clean and organized counter area.
• Communicate effectively with production staff about any customer requests or garment notes.
• Build repeat business by delivering consistent, friendly, and professional service.
Qualifications
• Customer-service oriented — must enjoy interacting with people.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle garments carefully.
• Knowledge of clothing brands, fabrics, and care labels is a plus.
• Basic computer and POS system skills required.
• Reliable, punctual, and well-presented.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Previous dry-cleaning or retail experience is helpful but not necessary — we will train the right person.
