Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Department: Clinical

Reports To: Clinical Director

FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt


Position Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct, 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

The RBT is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans, collecting data on client progress, and ensuring therapy is delivered with fidelity, professionalism, and compassion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct ABA therapy to children in a clinic setting.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans designed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate data on client performance and progress.
  • Follow protocols for skill acquisition, behavior reduction, and safety management.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing training.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with the BACB code of ethics.
  • Communicate effectively with BCBAs, caregivers, and team members regarding client progress.
  • Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Assist with general clinic duties as assigned (materials prep, session notes, client support).

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active RBT certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Ability to pass a Level II background check
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Ability to take feedback and implement supervision recommendations.
  • Organizational skills for data collection and session documentation.
  • Emotional resilience and patience when supporting children with challenging behaviors.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuing education.


Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and engage in physical play for extended periods up to 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Ability to physically support clients when needed for safety.


Schedule & Compensation

  • Schedule: Full-time or part-time; flexible shifts depending on client caseload and organizational need.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate; commensurate with experience.
