Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday | Day Shift | Onsite

Position Summary:
The Hematopathologist will provide contemporary hematopathology services integrating morphologic evaluation with flow cytometry, cytogenetics, FISH, and molecular genetics. This role supports a broad diagnostic case mix within a reference laboratory setting.
The ideal candidate will have approximately five years of post-fellowship experience in hematopathology, though exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered.
Core Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and cytology material, including gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation, and electronic case release.

Read, analyze, and interpret laboratory data in support of accurate diagnoses.

Perform and participate in quality control and quality assurance activities in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Participate in day-to-day laboratory operations, including case consultation and sign-out, with availability to interact with clients regarding pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical questions.

Provide expert guidance and assistance to technologists and technicians to resolve diagnostic or technical issues.

Serve as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned by the Site Medical Director.

Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure high standards of turnaround time, quality, and customer service.

Build and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians and ensure excellent client follow-up.

Contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment through collaborative decision-making and peer engagement.
Experience & Required Qualifications:

M.D. or D.O. degree required.

Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology preferred.

Board certification in Hematopathology required.

Minimum of five (5) years of attending-level experience in hematopathology strongly encouraged.

Active or eligibility for an unrestricted Florida medical license required.

Eligibility for additional state licensure in CA, NY, or TX is a plus.

Demonstrated success as a productive member of a multidisciplinary team, including collaboration with senior leadership.

Proven problem-solving ability, including identifying needs, analyzing potential solutions, and determining appropriate courses of action.

Experience using an automated Laboratory Information System (LIS) with online transcription, reporting, and electronic signature functionality.
