About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Combo Welder/Fabricator to join our team, providing marine welding, fabrication, and mechanical support on various projects. This role is ideal for candidates experienced in welding steel and aluminum who are eager to contribute hands-on skills in a dynamic, evolving department. The position requires a willingness to perform mechanical work and travel 25-50% annually.
Key Responsibilities

Perform fitting, burning, and welding operations to fabricate and repair spare parts while preventing issues like overheating and distortion.

Lay out, position, align, and secure parts for assembly using precision tools such as straightedges, squares, calipers, and rulers.

Read, interpret, and apply drawings and blueprints accurately to the tasks at hand.

Weld spare parts in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).

Clamp, tack weld, heat-bend, bolt, or grind components to meet technical and quality requirements.

Maintain and inspect welding equipment; prepare and follow a maintenance schedule with monthly reports.

Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment safely using hoists and hand tools.

Assist in labor budgeting, estimating, timeline development, and material requisition for projects.

Operate various welding techniques including gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored, plasma arc, and other arc welding processes.

Examine finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.

Prepare and set up work areas and equipment, and clean up after job completion.

Willingness to work overtime and weekends as project demands require.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ welding experience with certifications in aluminum, steel metals, MIG, and TIG welding.

Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (Florida preferred).

Ability to lift and move 50 lbs regularly; capable of working in confined, hot, or physically demanding environments.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proven mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine design, use, repair, and maintenance.

Ability to work with marine, industrial, and manufacturing clientele and apply relevant knowledge effectively.

Familiarity with structural basics including rigging, welding, erection, and reinforcements.

Strong problem-solving skills with flexibility and ability to adapt to dynamic work environments.

Commitment to workplace safety with the ability to operate safely at all times.

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity and ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble objects quickly and accurately.

Strength and endurance to perform physical tasks including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping.
