Job Description
Job DescriptionCareer Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Staff Blockchain Engineer (EVM Layer 1) - this is a fully remote role for candidates based in PST to CET timezones.
We're tackling one of the most critical challenges in technology today: unlocking the immense power of private data without compromising privacy. We are building the AI-native data platform that allows major industries—from finance and energy to supply chain and construction—to securely analyze and act on their most sensitive information.
This is your opportunity to work at the intersection of privacy, big data, and artificial intelligence. You won't just be writing code; you'll be creating the foundational tools that enable companies to make smarter, data-driven decisions. If you're passionate about solving complex problems and want to have a tangible impact on how data is used intelligently and ethically, join us and help define the next generation of AI.
We are seeking a Staff Blockchain Engineer to help architect, deploy, and maintain a performant and secure EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, supporting next-generation enterprise data exchange infrastructure. You will be a key contributor to the protocol layer, working closely with consensus, networking, and infrastructure engineering teams to deliver a production-ready chain with built-in support for data licensing, on-chain provenance, and verifiable AI workflows. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience building and scaling EVM-based chains or Layer 2s, and strong familiarity with the Cosmos SDK or similar modular blockchain frameworks.Responsibilities
-
Design, implement, and maintain core components of an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain
-
Lead protocol development including consensus, staking, slashing, bridging, and chain upgrade infrastructure
-
Work closely with DevOps to deploy and monitor production testnets and mainnets
-
Integrate enterprise-focused modules including on-chain data licensing, provenance logging, and privacy-preserving analytics
-
Contribute to long-term chain architecture and protocol roadmap
-
Write well-tested and auditable code using Go, Solidity, Rust, and/or TypeScript (as applicable)
-
Collaborate across product, cryptography, and security teams to maintain a secure and scalable network
-
Perform in-depth protocol research and benchmarking against other Layer 1s and L2s
Requirements
-
3–5+ years of experience in blockchain protocol engineering
-
Proven track record building or contributing to EVM-compatible Layer 1 or Layer 2 systems
-
Deep understanding of blockchain primitives: consensus algorithms, p2p networking, state machines, gas economics, etc.
-
Strong proficiency in Go, with additional fluency in Rust or Solidity preferred
-
Familiarity with the Cosmos SDK, CometBFT/Tendermint, and IBC architecture
-
Experience deploying, debugging, and maintaining blockchain networks in production
-
Knowledge of cryptographic standards used in Layer 1 systems (Merkle trees, signatures, zero-knowledge proofs, etc.)
Nice to Have
-
Experience with enterprise data systems: cloud storage, data governance, data privacy, and/or AI pipelines
-
Familiarity with data provenance frameworks, verifiable computation, or secure multi-party computation
-
Experience designing blockchain APIs or SDKs for developers and integrators
-
Background in high-scale, low-latency systems engineering
Why Join Us
-
Help build a foundational Layer 1 that bridges enterprise data and AI systems with cryptographic integrity
-
Join a technically elite and mission-driven team backed by top-tier investors
-
Work in a fast-moving environment with clear ownership and cutting-edge use cases
-
Shape the infrastructure powering the next generation of enterprise intelligence
