Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Commerce in fulfilling our Vision of Empowering Generations, Transforming Communities. This is achieved through delivering Remarkable Member Service as defined by our Service Standards as well as building and maintaining strong member relationships through identification of member's financial needs and effectively recommending appropriate products and services to meet those needs.

The Enterprise Application Developer is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of new software systems by collaborating with the Information Technology team and senior operating leaders of the credit union. This position is expected to code applications, create reports, and mentor future developers, while carrying out or participating in problem analysis and providing application technical support to other departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with other internal and external developers to create and establish programs that will benefit the organization and our members.
  • Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding testing, changes, and corrections.
  • Consults with management to analyze and understand functions to be automated, user needs, objectives, desired features, and input/output requirements.
  • Develops architecture diagrams for new custom development and obtains approval from senior management for design and requirement documents.
  • Designs, tests, and implements custom code for HTML based applications.
  • Designs, tests, and implements custom code for mobile based applications.
  • Designs, tests, and implements custom code for designated applications by utilizing SDK tools, along with integrating with vendor APIs.
  • Works with new technologies involving digital and e-commerce to develop or optimize member services.
  • Provides Tier 2 application technical support to other departments within the Credit Union.
  • Escalates issues to third-party vendors for resolution, along with providing timely updates to team members.
  • Works with Training and Development team to maintain the eServices Knowledge Center with up-to-date information.
  • Manages open tickets, while being assigned new tickets daily.
  • Gathers information from a variety of feedback sources to drive process and product improvement.
  • Follows internal change control process to implement any required production modifications.
  • Troubleshoots and performs root cause analysis for issue resolution and prevention.
  • Research and test software releases, upgrades, and patches to assigned applications and systems.
  • Develops and achieves project timelines and key performance indicators.
  • Ensures security policies are maintained within the applications.
  • Assists in annual Disaster Recovery testing as assigned.
  • Reviews journals, articles, publications, and other materials to keep abreast of new developments related to digital solutions and finance industry.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Performs job duties in accordance with policies established by the Board of Directors under the rules and regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration, the State of Florida and any applicable State laws for financial centers located in other States.
  • Complies with Reg E, BSA, OFAC and CIP requirements such as reporting suspicious or unusual activity to manager.
  • Fully supports in actions and words First Commerce's Vision, Mission, Core Values and Service Standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Developing professional and technological expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in related field required (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems/Computer Engineering).
  • Minimum of three-year experience with software development.
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages including JavaScript, Python, HTML, Java, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of system frameworks including .NET, GIT, Tecton, and GitHub.
