Full Time Litigation Attorney—Downtown Fort Lauderdale—Salary - Competitive
Currently seeking a senior associate to join a new, fast growing firm in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The firm focuses primarily on small business law, civil/commercial litigation, real estate and estate planning. The perfect fit is someone who wants to litigate and work on transactional matters. Candidates with a book of business a plus!!
The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and should be comfortable appearing in FL state court. Applicant must be self-motivated and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Attorney works alongside and under the guidance of the Lead Attorney. The Senior Associate Attorney maintains an entrepreneurial demeanor, is results oriented, innovative, detail oriented, flexible and adaptable to change.
Experience should include drafting demand letters, civil pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, asset purchase agreements, licensing agreements, international contracts, maritime contracts, commercial leases, wills, trusts and succession plans. Ideal candidate with have experience with depositions, court hearings, West Law, Wealth Counsel, Clio and Dropbox. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Lead attorney on litigation matters
- Prepare and analyze documents from clients, parties, and non-parties
- General case management, including preparing case summaries and research reports for clients
- Research and e-filing
- Court appearances and monitor deadlines, delegate tasks, manage and train junior attorneys
- Make outgoing calls to clients, courts, opposing counsel and city officials
- Review and proofread contracts and agreements, pleadings, complaints
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of law firm experience in litigation
- 3-5 years of business transactional experience
- Experience handling pre-litigation issues and judgment collection
- Familiarity with filing court documents in federal court and via the e-portal
- Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Motivated, Independent and detail-oriented
- Innovator and entrepreneur attitude
- Bilingual a plus
