Position Summary
Are you tired of being on call, working in 140-degree attics, and crawling under houses?
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Professional to join our faculty as an Instructor. In this role, you will use your years of field experience to train the next generation of technicians. You don't need prior teaching experience—just a mastery of the trade and a desire to mentor others. We provide the curriculum and the training; you provide the real-world know-how.
What You’ll Do
- Instruction: Teach the fundamentals of HVAC/R, including Thermodynamics, Electrical Theory, Refrigeration Cycles, and Airflow using our provided curriculum.
- Hands-On Lab Training: Lead students in the shop, demonstrating proper brazing, wiring, vacuuming, and charging techniques.
- Troubleshooting: Set up "bugged" units for students to diagnose and repair.
- Safety First: Enforce OSHA safety standards and proper tool usage at all times.
Qualifications
- Field Experience: 5+ years of verifiable field experience in Commercial HVAC/R.
- Certifications: EPA 608 Universal Certification required. (NATE or ICE certifications are a plus).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical schematics, heat pumps, gas furnaces, and A/C systems.
- Attitude: Patience, strong communication skills, and a passion for the trade.
- Tech Skills: Basic computer proficiency.
