We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of our residential and outpatient programs as well as developing plans to optimize and expand programs to reach more individuals in need. The Senior Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care, provides leadership and supervision to clinical teams, and maintains compliance with all licensing, credentialing, and regulatory requirements.
The Senior Director will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, practice managers, and clinical teams to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programming aligned with CARF standards, while promoting excellence in patient care and staff development.
This role is hybrid, requiring regular travel to locations in Broward and Miami counties.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective clinical organizational structure, staffing ratios, and appropriate delegation of authority
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to clinicians and clinical supervisors
- Demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, and ethical clinical practice
- Lead and facilitate clinical staff meetings
- Manage outpatient caseloads across multiple locations
- Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation to ensure compliance with licensing boards, accreditation standards, and insurance requirements
- Collaborate with Human Resources and practice managers to develop, implement, and track performance improvement plans
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical programming and implement improvements as needed
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of clinical staff
- Provide ongoing training, supervision, and in-service education to support staff development
- Maintain regular communication with referral sources and external stakeholders
- Direct and oversee all clinical program activities
- Establish and maintain standards of excellence for patient care
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses and evidence-based interventions
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and standards applicable to residential and outpatient settings
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Social Work, or a related health field. Doctorate preferred.
- Active professional licensure required: LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT
- Florida Certification Board (FCB) Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) preferred; will be required to obtain certification upon hire if not already certified
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in an outpatient, day treatment, residential, and/or hospital setting
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience, including familiarity with Continuous Quality Improvement and CARF standards
- Comprehensive understanding of mental health and substance abuse treatment and evidence-based clinical interventions in residential and outpatient settings
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, funding sources, licensing, and accreditation standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Successful completion of background checks and drug screening
- Bi-lingual – English and Spanish a plus
