Landscape Maintenance – Temp to Hire
Pay: $18–$19 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced landscape maintenance worker. This role involves maintaining outdoor areas through mowing, trimming, planting, and general upkeep, with the potential to transition to a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
Landscape Maintenance
- Perform regular grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, blowing, and raking
- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and groundcover according to landscape plans
- Prune and trim trees, hedges, and shrubs for healthy growth and appearance
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely as directed
- Mulch garden beds and tree rings to retain moisture and reduce weeds
- Monitor plant health and address issues related to pests or diseases
- Clean and maintain garden beds, walkways, and landscape features
- Remove leaves, trash, and debris from grounds
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
- Operate landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and hand tools
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and report malfunctions
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained
Client Interaction (if applicable)
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Address concerns and provide updates as needed
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2–3 years of landscaping or groundskeeping experience
- Experience with irrigation systems is highly preferred
- Horticultural training or certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good manual dexterity for using landscaping tools and equipment
