Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides essential nursing care to patients in the PHP and IOP programs. Working under the supervision of an RN or medical director, the LPN assists in patient assessments, medication management, and health monitoring to support mental health recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:
    • Assist in the admission and discharge process, including obtaining patient medical histories and performing basic health assessments.
    • Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
    • Support patients with activities of daily living and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Health Monitoring:
    • Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and weight, ensuring accurate documentation.
    • Observe and report any changes in patients’ physical or mental condition to the care team.
  • Medication Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of medication administration.
    • Educate patients on their prescribed medications and ensure compliance with treatment plans.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with RNs, therapists, and other clinical staff to ensure coordinated care for patients.
    • Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Document all care and services provided in the patient’s EMR, adhering to HIPAA and facility standards.
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and professional nursing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited LPN program.
  • Licensure: Current, active LPN license in the state of Florida.
  • Experience:
    • At least 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a mental health or substance abuse setting.
    • Familiarity with PHP and IOP environments is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
