Role Overview:

Insight Global's manufacturing client in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking 2 Rack Assemblers to join their warehouse team. Candidates will execute hands-on lab racking and stacking procedures, including the assembly and setup of intricate rack configurations. Ensure meticulous installation and integration of all components and associated cabling.

Must Haves:

  • Solder Certified (J-STD-001 Preferred).
  • Experience with MIL-STD-1310 strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hardware configuration, troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues, and following blueprints and schematics.
  • 3-10 years of experience with rack installation hardware.
    • Servers, switches, routers, radios, etc.
  • Low-voltage experience.
  • Cabling experience.
    • Routing, terminating, and testing Cat5, Cat6, or related cables.
  • Manufacturing or related industry exposure.
  • Reliable, professional, and strong communication skills.

Plusses:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Day to Day:

  • Rack & Install Hardware: Mount, install, and secure servers, switches, routers, radios, and other rack mount components in 19” EIA racks.
  • Power Distribution: Install and connect power distribution units (PDUs), circuit breakers, and UPS systems.
  • Structured Cabling: Route, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a cables following TIA/EIA standards.
  • Fiber Optic Installation: Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode & multi-mode) using OTDR and light meters.
  • Cable Management: Organize and label data, ethernet, fiber optic, COAX, RF and power cables for a clean and efficient layout.
  • Hardware Configuration: Connect and verify data, RF and power connections; perform initial device light-off and configuration.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues.
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering drawings/blueprints and technical terms.
  • Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
  • Meet quality, productivity, turnaround time, and other expectations.
  • Expertly route cables and fibers in an organized, professional manner to maximize future maintenance and serviceability.
