About the Role:
Mass Virtual is currently seeking a professional Senior Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating technical documents, guides, and manuals, have the ability to explain complex information in a clear and concise manner, and work with our team and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and clarity of product descriptions.
What you’ll be doing:
Advanced Documentation Creation:
- Develop, write, and maintain in-depth technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, white papers, and other technical content.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather detailed information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for a diverse audience.
Content Management:
- Organize and manage documentation using content management systems (CMS) to ensure documentation is easily accessible, up-to-date, and well-structured.
- Regularly review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in products, services, or procedures.
- Establish and enforce documentation standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Technical Editing and Proofreading:
- Perform thorough editing and proofreading of documentation for clarity, grammar, consistency, and adherence to standards.
- Ensure all documentation is of the highest quality and meets the needs of the target audience.
Research and Analysis:
- Analyze complex technical information and translate it into clear and concise content that is easily understood by users.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical writing.
- Conduct extensive research to gain a deep understanding of the products and services being documented.
Collaboration and Communications:
- Work closely with engineers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand documentation requirements.
- Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technical writers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Tool and Technology Use:
- Explore and implement new tools and technologies to enhance documentation processes and efficiency.
User-Centric Writing:
- Incorporate feedback from users to continuously improve documentation and address any gaps.
- Conduct usability testing of documentation to ensure it meets user needs and expectations.
What you need to succeed:
- 4+ years of proven experience working in a technical writing field or similar.
- Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles.
- Talent in showing ideas graphically.
- Ability to interact with subject matter experts and product developers.
- UX design documentation skills and the ability to storyboard.
- Excited, passionate, proactive and self-motivated with an enthusiasm for learning.
- Must be able to adapt to new technologies.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional research and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to travel
- Must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Great to have:
- BS degree in English or similar communications field.
- Certification in technical writing
- Experience in Unity3D or Unreal Engine based training environments.
- Experience in highly detailed Virtual Reality environments
- Graphic design knowledge
- Basic scripting knowledge

Working Conditions:
· In-office 100% of the time
· The person in this position must be able to stay stationary for long periods of time
