Job Description
Construction Project Manager - Developer / Owner’s side
A well-established, privately held organization with a large development portfolio is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex commercial construction projects across multiple locations.
This role is designed for a construction leader who wants full accountability and real influence, not just managing schedules, but driving decisions, aligning teams, and ensuring projects are built the right way. You’ll serve as the owner’s advocate on site and in meetings, guiding projects from early planning through closeout.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- True project ownership: Lead projects from concept through completion with authority and autonomy
- Large-scale work: Ground-up builds, major renovations, and expansions with significant budgets and visibility
- National exposure: Work across diverse markets and project types throughout the U.S.
- Direct impact: Your leadership directly affects quality, cost control, and delivery timelines
- Collaborative environment: Partner closely with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
Your Role in a Nutshell
Rather than being buried in day-to-day admin, you’ll act as a strategic construction leader, coordinating teams, resolving issues, and keeping projects aligned with owner standards, brand requirements, and business goals. You’ll have regular interaction with senior leadership and the ability to influence outcomes at every stage.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of experience managing complex commercial or retail construction projects
- Proven success delivering large-scale builds (ground-up and major renovations)
- Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and comfort making independent decisions
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing focus or quality
- Willingness to travel as project needs fluctuate
Tools & Background
- Familiar with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction mgm, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
