Superintendent
Job Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role also involves managing subcontractor relationships and enforcing safety and quality protocols.
Key Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain good relationships with inspectors, architects, subcontractors, clients, and other key personnel associated with the project.
- Ensure timely completion of all projects, adhering to budget and quality expectations.
- Manage and drive to the schedule, planning activities, critical path method and providing schedule updates.
- Maintain a clean job site, enforcing OSHA safety standards, and ensuring compliance with local/state regulations and building codes.
- Ability to manage all aspects of construction including various structural assemblies (concrete systems, structural steel, trusses) envelope and waterproofing, glazing systems, MEPF, high end-finishes and fixtures, site amenities and pools.
- Plan daily tasks, prioritize workload, and track project milestones.
- Communicate plans to subcontractors and suppliers, inspect their work for quality, and ensure compliance with project specifications and code requirements.
o Lead weekly Subcontractor meetings to review schedule requirements, material deliveries, inspections, quality control and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections, enforce quality control standards, and plan corrective actions when needed.
o Schedule and manage pre-installation meetings with Subcontractors to review contract documents, details, approved submittals, and manufacturer requirements.
o First work-in-place inspections to guarantee quality control.
o In-place progress inspections.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues, anticipate potential problems and implement solutions before they escalate.
- Complete daily project logs, ensure compliance with SWPPP, and meet with the Project Manager to review budgets and schedules.
Qualifications
- A strong work ethic and “can-do” attitude.
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or lead field manager on high quality fast-paced projects.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) to manage projects and coordinate team efforts.
- Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and regulations. Leadership, time management, and decision-making skills are essential.
- Regulatory Compliance: Must have a thorough understanding of Safety & OSHA regulations, with the ability to enforce them effectively on job sites.
- License: Valid FL driver’s license required.
Supervisory Responsibility
The Superintendent has supervisory responsibilities, including direct oversight of Assistant Superintendents, Carpenters/Laborers, and field staff.

Physical Demands: The job may require standing, sitting, walking, lifting, or carrying items weighing up to 50lbs pounds. Employees are expected to adhere to proper ergonomic practices to ensure their health and safety.
