Job Description
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant that will be a compassionate and vital member of their care team, working to restore and enhance the mobility, independence, and wellbeing of our senior residents. Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will provide personalized therapeutic interventions that not only address physical needs but also build trust, encourage progress, and contribute to the overall quality of life for our community's members.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, guiding residents through therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and other activities.
- Provide a variety of hands-on techniques, such as massage and stretching, to help residents manage pain and improve function.
- Observe and monitor residents' responses to treatment, documenting progress and reporting any changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate residents and their families on exercises and mobility techniques to promote continued progress and ensure safety after therapy sessions.
- Assist residents in the safe and proper use of assistive devices, such as walkers, canes, and wheelchairs.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including nurses and occupational therapists, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to resident care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in accordance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program and a valid, unrestricted license to practice in the state.
- Previous experience working in a senior living or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
