GENERAL SUMMARY


The Charge Capture Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day charge capture operations and supporting designated staff through training, task delegation, and workflow coordination. This role performs daily charge edits, manages charge task lists, and ensures timely and accurate charge posting through regular reporting and reconciliation. The Lead identifies process improvement opportunities, conducts quality review audits, and supports revenue recognition efforts. Additional responsibilities include reviewing payroll timecards and maintaining attendance records for assigned team members

  • Maintains responsibility for approximately 50% of the daily charge capture workload.
  • Oversee Claim Readiness/Claim Capture/Claim Billing staff members.
  • Assist with daily charge importing and assignment, edit correction, and charge reconciliation.
  • Assists the supervisor with ensuring adequate coverage, delegating work (including initial coaching and monitoring), reporting, and supporting the setup and agenda planning for monthly meetings.
  • Serves as a resource to front-line team members by addressing procedural questions and providing guidance on appropriate tactics and key process details.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to support team member development and notifies the supervisor when performance issues escalate to the level of formal coaching or verbal/written warnings.
  • Assist with claim readiness process responsible for correcting charge edits and importing and correcting charges.
  • Collaborates with the Supervisor, Coding, and Revenue Integrity teams to manage day-to-day operations and establish audit priorities based on risk areas and previous documentation or coding deficiencies.
  • Ensures standardization is being followed of all aspects of coding operations .
  • Communicates findings to leadership and establishes action plans for areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Identifies obstacles and helps to brainstorm workflow, technology and communication-based solutions.
  • Responsible for proofing payroll timecards and charting attendance tracker for designated staff members.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), International Classification of Disease (ICD) coding, and the entire revenue cycle process.
  • Knowledge of EHR (Electronic Health Record) software systems and Microsoft Office products.

  • Ability to develop reports and create presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and business lines.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum of three years’ revenue cycle experience within a physician practice.
  • Minimum of three years’ Urology importing and medical record review.

  • Minimal travel may be required.
