Job Title: Traveling Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking a Traveling Superintendent to join our team, where you will initially learn the job sites and client expectations. In 2-3 months, you will lead and start new projects in locations such as Tennessee or Kansas. You will have the opportunity to work on commercial building projects within active industrial construction sites, supporting the erection of pre-engineered steel buildings that house mechanical systems and office spaces. Safety is our utmost priority, and you will act as a liaison to help subcontractors navigate compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison and guide for subcontractors unfamiliar with large client operations.
  • Oversee site safety and maintain safety standards at the highest level.
  • Create, maintain, and review all project documentation.
  • Ensure project oversight, quality control, and scheduling are executed effectively.
  • Communicate with trades, subcontractors, clients, and owners.
  • Manage project materials and ensure timely delivery.
  • Keep subcontractors on schedule to meet project deadlines.
  • Perform all other assigned responsibilities.

Essential Skills

  • Construction supervision and safety procedures expertise.
  • Commercial and industrial construction experience.
  • Subcontractor management and steel erection knowledge.
  • Proficiency in pre-engineered building methods and blueprint reading.
  • Willingness to work as a salary consultant/employee on a 12-month contract-to-hire basis.
  • Experience working with major contractors like Kiewit, Black and Veatch, or Bechtel.
  • Lead superintendent experience on projects valued at $50 million+.
  • OSHA 30+ and construction safety experience.
  • 2 years of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) experience.
  • 5 years of heavy commercial or industrial superintendent experience.
  • 2 years of steel erection experience.
  • 5 years of ground-up construction experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Nucor CICP (Contractor Installation Certification Program).
  • VP installer certification.
  • Construction Management Degree.
  • Pre-cast building experience.

Work Environment

This role requires working on-site across the United States, typically from Utah to Florida, with potential projects nationwide. Standard work hours include five 10-hour days and an 8-hour Saturday. Employees receive a $166 per day allowance, mileage compensation for mobilization and demobilization, a truck allowance, a phone allowance or company phone, and two weeks of paid time off with 7 holidays. Travel home is reimbursed every three weeks. You will work closely with a lead superintendent who is soon retiring, offering a valuable learning opportunity and long-term career potential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
