Now Hiring: Clinical Support Staff Nurse Full-Time (Day Shifts Available)
Location: Assigned Group Home(s) | Job Type: Full-Time | Shift: To Be Determined (includes rotating weekends)
Reports To: Assistant Director of Nursing
Position Overview
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Clinical Support Staff Nurse in a group home setting. This role is vital in providing quality clinical oversight and support for individuals with developmental and medical needswithout staff management responsibilities. You'll work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance, quality care, and safety standards across assigned group homes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support & Oversight
- Strengthen clinical leadership across our teams
- Align with our vision for high-quality patient care
- Be a clinical presence during shift changes and actively solve problems in real time
- Provide hands-on support to LPNs, CNAs, and direct care staff in the home
- Promote consistency in support and operations
- Clinical Support Nurseswill attend daily morning meetings (Monday through Friday).
- Purpose: This is the key time to delegate tasks, review follow-ups, and go over audits and progress on assigned duties.
Staff Training & Compliance
- Educate and train direct care staff on individual health plans and related protocols.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
- Promote and monitor infection control and universal precautions.
- Support compliance with APD, DCF, FDOH, and OSHA standards.
Administrative /Audit Check Tasks
- Coordinate medical appointments and transportation.
- Keep the nursing administration, and other departments informed
- Daily and weekly audits. Chart and cart audits, ensuring medication disposal protocol is followed
- Ensureall orders are printed and placed in consumers' charts
- Check and verifystart and end-of-shift notes
Appointment Setting
- Appointment Assignment Model:Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Clinical Support Nurses will attend1 specialty appointment per day.
- Any available nurse can sign up for the appointment. If no ones does the CSNs will attend.
- Mondays and Fridays:Reserved forfollow-up tasks, including: requesting documentation, scheduling or confirming follow-up appointments and wrapping up tasks from the week's visits
Requirements
- Active LPN or RN license in the state of Florida (required)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Minimum 3years of clinical leadership experience (lead/supervisor/floor nurse/case manager) in a healthcare or group home setting
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or complex medical needs (vents, trachs, G-tubes preferred)
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in group homes, behavioral health, or long-term care
- Familiarity with Florida Medicaid waiver programs and regulatory standards
Work Environment
- This position is hands-on and conducted in residential group homes.
- You will interact with consumers and support staff daily and may travel between multiple locations.
