Work Setting: On-site, itinerant across the district
Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for the 20252026 academic year. This full-time, in-person position supports students district-wide with varying levels of hearing loss and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative special education services to approximately 20 students

Deliver monthly consults for 7 students and direct services to the remaining caseload

Travel between multiple schools within the district to meet student needs

Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support IEP goals

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized education planning
Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or related field

Florida Department of Education certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing (K-12)

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Previous experience working in a school setting preferred

Must be comfortable working in an itinerant model
