Work Setting: On-site, itinerant across the district

Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for the 20252026 academic year. This full-time, in-person position supports students district-wide with varying levels of hearing loss and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative special education services to approximately 20 students

• Deliver monthly consults for 7 students and direct services to the remaining caseload

• Travel between multiple schools within the district to meet student needs

• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support IEP goals

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized education planning

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or related field

• Florida Department of Education certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing (K-12)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Previous experience working in a school setting preferred

• Must be comfortable working in an itinerant model
