Center for Bone & Joint Surgery of the Palm Beaches is a multi-location medical practice devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases of the body's musculoskeletal system. Our locations feature a staff of highly trained orthopedic surgeons, each with a specific area of expertise. We offers a team approach to your care and provides a variety of services right on campus designed for your convenience and ensuring an outstanding continuum of care. These include on-site X-ray, on-site MRI, on-site physical therapy, and aquatic therapy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Conducts physical exams, assesses health status, orders and interprets tests, prescribes medications, and treats illnesses including giving injections and suturing wounds.
• Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA’s scope of work.
• Monitors therapies and provides continuity of care.
• Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
• Counsels' patient/family on preventive health care.
• Documents patient information and care in medical record and may maintain department statistical database for research purposes.
• Assist physician with initial and follow ups screening of patients during daily clinics.
• Dictate progress notes, narratives, and second opinions for daily clinics, as requested.
• Screen patients to determine needs for surgery, consent for surgical procedure.
• Assist physician with surgical procedures, as needed.
• Apply casts, splints or traction, stabilize fractures, etc.
• Complete physician orders, discharge summaries and other hospital forms.
• Give verbal and/or written orders for direct hospital admissions and admissions through the emergency department.
• Order routine laboratory test, including MRI, Bone Scan, CT-Scan, Blood, Urine, etc.
• Timely completion of medical patient’s records.
