Coastal Wildlife & Pest Services, one of the fastest-growing pest and wildlife control companies in the Jacksonville area, is looking for a hardworking, reliable and customer-focused pest control technician to join our team. Never done this type of work before? That’s OK! While previous pest control experience is always a plus, it’s not required. The bottom line? In this role, you’ll be responsible for residential and commercial pest control services, which gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and tackle new challenges. We kick off each morning with a team huddle to get you fired up and ready to seize the day. During this meeting, we’ll review schedules, address any issues from the previous day and ensure everyone has the equipment they need to be prepared and ready to go. From there, you’ll be out in the field inspecting properties for pest activity and applying pest control treatments using backpack sprayers and other application methods.

Additionally, because customer service is a major part of the job, you’ll be expected to communicate with homeowners and business owners, explain the services being performed and offer recommendations for ongoing pest prevention. While most of your work will be done independently, you’ll stay connected with the office to update job statuses, report any issues and adjust schedules as needed. This role may include participation in a rotating on-call schedule for trap checks and related service needs. And while this isn't a sales position, technicians are encouraged to identify opportunities for additional services and generate leads, earning commission on any new business they help bring in.

Responsibilities at a glance

• Inspect properties for pest activity
• Perform pest control treatments using backpack sprayers and other application methods
• Set and monitor traps for rodents and other covered pests
• Communicate with homeowners and business owners, explaining services and offering prevention recommendations
• Follow a structured daily schedule planned in advance by our office team
• Stay connected with the office to update job statuses, report issues and adjust schedules as needed
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule as assigned
• Identify opportunities for additional services and generate leads, earning commission on new business
  
  

Requirements

• Pest control experience preferred but not required
• Comfortable working in crawl spaces and around residential and commercial properties
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical labor when needed
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to follow safety protocols and properly use pest control products and equipment
