Doorman/Security Professional Job Description
Job Summary:We are seeking a professional, polished, and vigilant Doorman/Security Professional to be the first point of contact for our esteemed guests. The ideal candidate will provide a secure, welcoming, and refined atmosphere while upholding the establishment's high standards of service and safety protocols. This individual will ensure a seamless guest experience, from arrival to departure, while discreetly managing access and maintaining order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Relations: Provide a warm, professional, and genuine welcome and farewell to all guests, assisting with doors and coordinating transportation (taxis, ride-shares) as needed.
- Access Control: Monitor the entrance to manage the flow of traffic, enforce capacity limits, and verify guest identification to ensure compliance with legal age requirements for alcohol service.
- Policy Enforcement: Discreetly and tactfully enforce establishment policies, such as dress codes or reservation requirements, ensuring consistency and professionalism.
- Situational Awareness & Patrol: Maintain a strong, yet unobtrusive, security presence. Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential risks or suspicious activity before they escalate.
- Conflict De-escalation: Employ superior communication and conflict resolution skills to calmly and professionally diffuse any disturbances or disputes among patrons or staff, minimizing physical confrontation.
- Emergency Response: Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures (medical incidents, fire, evacuation) and act quickly and calmly in a crisis, coordinating with management and emergency services as required.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document and report all security-related incidents, daily activities, and irregularities to management in detail.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the host team, management, and other staff members to ensure an exceptional and safe dining experience for all patrons.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Proven experience in a security role, preferably within a high-end hospitality, fine dining, or hotel environment.
- Professionalism: A professional demeanor, impeccable presentation (suit and tie position often required), and a commitment to high service standards are essential.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse clientele and staff with tact and discretion.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly in high-pressure situations.
- Legal Knowledge: A solid understanding of local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service, safety, and use of force.
- Certifications: Applicable security license/registration as required by state and local laws (e.g., Florida security license), along with First Aid and CPR certification, is often preferred or mandatory.
Physical Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and the capacity to handle physical situations if required.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
