POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will support attorneys throughout the litigation process by performing a range of tasks, including legal research, case management, and preparing legal documents. This position will focus on cases that include significant traumatic injuries or death. Case types typically include: medical malpractice, nursing home/assisted living facility neglect, failure to use an AED in a public place, sexual assault, product liability, negligent security, vehicular wrongful death, and others. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of litigation procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently. This position is in-person only, no remote work available.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist attorneys in case preparation, including drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and witness lists.
- Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Manage all aspects of cases in litigation and pre-suit.
- Coordinates with experts, drafts Notices of intent, and responds to discovery for nursing home, assisted living, and medical malpractice cases.
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy and prepare legal documents.
- Organize and maintain case files, evidence, and other legal documents. Ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Manage the discovery litigation process by preparing discovery requests, responses, and documentation.
- Assist attorneys during trial preparation and proceedings, including exhibits, coordinating witness appearances, and managing trial planning.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor's Degree, or Paralegal certification (e.g., from FRP), required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a paralegal with a focus on litigation.
- Strong understanding of the litigation process, legal terms, and court procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interaction with fellow teams and attorneys.
- Solid organizational skills, ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases (e.g., Lexis Nexis, Westlaw)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office setting as well as working out in the field with the public at events. This role routinely uses standard office equipment: manual dexterity, physical mobility, and some physical strength/stamina.
