We are looking for a skilled Set-Up Mechanic to assemble, maintain, and repair machinery used in the Personal Care industry. You will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of production lines, including piston liquid fillers, cappers, tube fillers, coders, printers, sleevers, in-line labelers, and conveyor systems.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, a history of completing tasks safely and timely, and the ability to minimize downtime during changeovers while meeting strict quality standards.What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for the setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of our packaging and filling equipment. Your duties include:
1. Line Setup & Changeovers

  • Perform the setup, adjustment, and changeover processes for various types and sizes of components in manufacturing machineries—including electro-mechanical systems, PLC, conveyors, pumps, piston fillers, cappers, tube fillers, coders, labelers, sleever, heat tunnel, induction sealer, case tape sealer, aerosol and bag-in-valve filling and packing systems — ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to production schedules.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments to ensure specifications are met.
  • Start devices to test performance and fine-tune for production readiness.


2. Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Repair or replace defective parts, including electrical equipment and pneumatic tools.
  • Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner to minimize downtime.


3. Inspection & Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform regular and scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment used in manufacturing processes to ensure machinery reliability and the successful execution of production activities. Keep record of maintenance activities to track the lifespan of equipment.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components and perform thorough maintenance on systems.


4. Compliance & Teamwork

  • Assist in determining required tooling for new product line trials, ensuring set-up accuracy and compliance with customers’ specifications.
  • Assist with equipment qualification and validation for new machinery installations or process changes.
  • Assist and train other mechanics in the performance of their duties.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and FDA/cGMP guidelines regarding equipment cleanliness and documentation.
  • Maintain a drive for continuous self-improvement to increase personal productivity.

What You Have

  • Experience: Preferred previous experience working as an electro-mechanic in a personal care, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with liquid fillers, cappers, labelers, coders, printers, conveyors, pumps, PLC controls, and equipment using compressed air.
  • Skills: Manual dexterity, great attention to detail, and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Communication: Very good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with line operators, management and other teams in Operations.
  • Safety Focus: A history of completing all tasks and assignments in a safe manner.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move heavy parts or equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable working with various machines and tools.
