Entry-Level Engineer – Electric Distribution Design
Seeking an entry-level engineer to support the design of overhead (OH) and underground (UG) electric distribution systems, with a focus on wildfire mitigation and infrastructure hardening. This role involves both office-based design and field data collection, working under the guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities:
Develop design and construction packages using AutoCAD, GIS, and proprietary tools
Perform basic engineering calculations (pole loading, voltage drop, guying, etc.)
Translate field data and scope documents into executable design plans
Conduct field visits (observational only) to gather site data
Support permitting, utility coordination, and post-construction review
Perform self-checks and support QA/QC processes
Tools & Software: AutoCAD, AUD, GIS (ESRI), O-Calc, Pole Foreman, Microsoft Office, internal platforms (training provided)
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), MS Office skills, strong communication
Preferred: Internship/academic experience in utility design, familiarity with AutoCAD/GIS, NESC or GO95 knowledge
