Role Summary
We are seeking an Entry-Level Engineering Technician to support manufacturing and facility operations through hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance, equipment upgrades, and small engineering projects. This role partners closely with engineering, maintenance, and contractors to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and at optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Supervise equipment upgrades and modifications to maintain optimal function and appearance.
- Identify improvement opportunities and execute corrective actions.
- Manage and execute small-scale equipment and facility projects.
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and ensure adherence to safety standards and codes.
- Support equipment startup, calibration, and ongoing operational support.
- Supervise external contractors (electricians, plumbers, etc.) and coordinate mechanical assemblies.
- Communicate technical updates and project status across engineering disciplines.
- Lead FMEAs related to equipment upgrades, changes, or obsolescence.
- Apply Root Cause Analysis methodologies to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience.
- 0–5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings.
- Experience supervising contractors or construction-related activities.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems.
- Familiarity with engineering standards, safety codes, and manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with facility infrastructure (boilers, compressors, utilities).
