Job Description

Job DescriptionSalary:

Price Electric is seeking a collaborative Electrical Estimator with industrial and commercial estimating expertise to assist its growing Fort Myers branch.

Estimator primary duties include:

  • Identifying and/or qualifying new business opportunities and collaborating with key staff to advance targeted leads and strategies while working with new and existing customers
  • Fostering effective relationships with customers that reflect and support company vision, mission and core values to meet or exceed the customers expectations and be regarded as a solution provider
  • Actively building key vendor (e.g., suppliers, subcontractors, engineers) database and long-term relationships to secure best value/pricing
  • Gathering RFQ and RFP plans, specifications and documents; attending project pre-bid meetings and site visits; and comprehending verbal and written job scope to identify value engineering opportunities and design electrical projects for budgeting purposes
  • Staying attuned to market trends and current on construction standards and materials and maintaining and communicating data on construction and material cost drivers affecting cost databases
  • Requesting and qualifying vendor and sub-tier bids for completeness and compliance
  • Analyzing, managing, and mitigating risks while determining labor and material requirements
  • Preparing comprehensive material, labor, and subcontractor cost estimates for bid proposals and change orders that meet Company objectives
  • Preparing job hand-offs to Operations and providing internal consultation throughout the job life cycle
  • Producing professional, high-quality work within deadlines using construction software proficiently (e.g., McCormick)

Qualifications:

  • Four years of technical electrical training/education, such as Journeyperson Electrician licensing, to gain strong knowledge of National Electrical Code, building products, construction details, calculations, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Five years of electrical construction estimating experience for commercial and industrial projects; design-build estimating experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated strengths in leading, critical thinking, planning, listening, communicating, problem solving, adapting, advancing teamwork, and achieving results
  • Possess a valid driver license and acceptable insurability to drive for company business which may include overnight travel
