Position: Program Manager
Location and Schedule: Private corporate wellness center in Miami, FL 33126. Facility operating hours are 6:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday.
Position Purpose
This roles purpose is supervising, controlling, and directing all activity, member service, and health promotion program areas for the fitness center.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and supervises in all aspects relating to wellness and health promotion activities. Monitors and evaluates work performance of personnel in this area including interns, personal trainers, group fitness instructors, etc. Creates and maintains positive work environment within the club.
Ensures that all activities and duties are performed in accordance with CSU standards.
Communicates with service staff and corporate management in order to ensure a quality level of service to the members.
Performs inventory, payroll, membership processing, etc (depending on location). Prepares financial reports required by CSU.
Supervises and assists in cleaning and maintenance of the entire facility.
Ensures regular and adequate equipment maintenance is scheduled and performed.
Drives the health and wellness programs for the fitness center and our client through conception, development, implementation and outcome analysis.
In charge of keeping the fitness center on the cutting edge of the industry in regards to equipment, programs and activities through continuing education.
Making sure that we are following ACSM and CSU protocols for all fitness testing, evaluations, consultations, equipment orientations and exercise prescriptions.
Solicits prospective members. Provides information to prospective members regarding fitness center programs, new member orientation procedures, and general health and wellness information. Directs all sales activities as required.
Manages the members orientation process, records, and exercise adherence programs (from Health History and Medical Clearances to Fitness Assessments and Exercise Prescription).
Develops and provides beneficial health, fitness, activity, and club operational information to members through the use of emails, bulletin boards, newsletters, and fliers.
Performs various other duties and assignments as necessary or required.
Required Qualifications and skills
Be at least 21 years of age
BS in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
An outgoing personality and a priority of high-level member service
Strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills
A clear progression of positions with increasing responsibility
A desire to work in a fitness center setting, along with a sincere interest in fitness and health, and a desire to maintain or improve ones own level of fitness
Preferred Qualifications (may be required depending on location)
Previous experience in a corporate wellness setting
CPT and/or Group Fitness certification from a CHU approved and nationally recognized program
