POSITION SUMMARY:

The Software Support Developer is responsible for identifying and developing software that fixes bugs reported by our business teams, performing operational tasks and automating operational tasks where possible through software development.

REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages the software support queue that involves identifying the problem and making the necessary code changes in a timely manner.

Performs extensive testing and quality checks to ensure coding changes are error free.

Suggests improvements to the various platforms based on issues discovered during investigations to ensure integrity of the data.

Automates repeated support requests by providing an interface for the user to perform needed tasks.

Tracks, escalates and redirects problems to correct resources.

Effectively communicates with team members, customers, and management, both written and verbally.

Reviews and updates the technical implementation and support documentation in Confluence.

Manages code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality.

Provides required technical support, including release implementations and on-call when necessary.

Trains end users and/or technical support staff to use programs.

Monitors performance of programs after implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires an undergraduate degree in a related field. Substantial experience and knowledge in IT can replace the educational requirement. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Software Support Developer must be able to manage multiple priorities and have strong organization and analytical skills. Other requirements include coding experience, knowledge of Linux as well as Microsoft Office Suite Programs.
