Front Desk Receptionist
Our busy ophthalmology office is seeking a pro-active, customer service oriented front desk receptionist with medical billing experience to work with a talented physician in Palm Beach County.
The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic and well versed in billing software and medical insurance regulations.
*This is not an entry level position*
Minimum Qualifications:
· 5+ years of prior experience in medical front office in a Ophthalmology setting
· 1-2 years of previous Ophthalmic billing experience
· Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
· Strong attention to detail, ability to perform job duties autonomously
· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
· Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or Practice Management system(s) Next Gen knowledge is a HUGE plus
· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
· Must be a team player and open to cross training
Responsibilities/Duties (including but not limited to):
· Using a Practice Management and EHR system – Register patients, verify and update demographics, assist patients in completing forms and document all the information received.
· Review referrals and authorizations to confirm patient benefits and insurance.
· Transfer insurance claims and billing data to NextGen.
· Greet patients/visitors and answer their general office and billing questions.
· Explains financial responsibilities to the patient and collect payments.
· Monitor and schedule patient’s visits and surgeries.
· Answer, screen and direct telephone calls.
· General office work as needed.
