Job Summary: Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment while delivering exceptional customer service to residents, vendors, and guests. Ensure the consistent implementation of policies and procedures established by the St. Augustine Ocean and Racquet Resort and the Condominium Owners Association.
The Gate Attendant plays a key role in creating a welcoming environment for residents, guests, and vendors at a condominium community that also operates as a vacation rental resort. The attendant will be stationed in the guard house to monitor entry, greet and assist visitors, and ensure adherence to community policies. This position also involves conducting regular property walks and reporting visible violations to management.
Essential Functions:
A. Arrive at least 5 minutes early to review the Daily Log, receive handoff information from previous attendants, and stay informed about potential issues and scheduled events.
B. Greet residents, guests, and vendors professionally and courteously, always providing a welcoming and respectful presence.
C. Assist vacation rental guests with arrival, distribute access materials, and verify authorization for all incoming individuals.
D. Monitor and document incoming traffic, allowing entry only to those with proper authorization.
E. Answer the gate phone and respond appropriately to service calls, inquiries, and complaints.
F. Verify identification and ensure compliance with community rules and access protocols.
G. Maintain accurate and organized logs of daily activity, including incident reports for any unusual events, unauthorized persons, or rule violations.
H. Conduct routine property walks to identify and report visible violations or suspicious activities.
I. Notify and coordinate with emergency services (e.g., fire department, law enforcement) when necessary.
J. Complete detailed incident reports to document irregularities, unauthorized access, or emergency situations.
K. Maintain ongoing communication with on-site management, including weekly updates and suggestions for improving operations.
L. Enforce community policies and procedures established by the Condominium Owners Association.
M. Wear the approved uniform and maintain grooming standards in accordance with company policy.
N. Assist with other tasks as directed.
Requirements:
Job Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or security preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures consistently.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer or tablet proficiency for logging information and communications.
Work Environment:
- Position is primarily based in a guard house at the community entrance.
- Requires walking the property outdoors daily in varying weather conditions.
