Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and drive economic development initiatives within Deerfield Beach, Florida. This long-term contract position involves creating strategies to attract, retain, and expand businesses, while fostering community growth and supporting minority and small enterprises. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in project management and a deep understanding of economic development programs.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive economic and physical development plans to support both short-term and long-term growth strategies.
• Serve as a key liaison between businesses, investors, and community organizations to encourage collaboration and streamline development processes.
• Conduct research and feasibility studies to assist businesses in identifying site locations, funding sources, and preparing business proposals.
• Prepare and manage City Commission agenda items, contracts, RFPs, and other legal documents necessary for executing economic development projects.
• Analyze economic, statistical, and demographic data to identify opportunities for business attraction, retention, and expansion.
• Design and execute marketing strategies aimed at promoting the city’s economic potential and attracting value-added businesses.
• Organize and participate in trade fairs, workshops, and other events to support economic growth and small business development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including city officials, community groups, and non-profit organizations, to ensure alignment of development initiatives.
• Maintain regular communication with internal and external parties to foster relationships and ensure project success.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the city’s economic development goals.• Minimum of 1 year of experience in project management, with a focus on economic or community development.
• Strong expertise in formal project management methodologies; PMP certification is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and lead projects using Agile Scrum practices.
• Familiarity with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs and related processes.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate data and make strategic recommendations.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute marketing strategies for business development.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Urban Planning, or a related discipline is preferred.
