Position Overview:
The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company vehicles, trucks, trailers,and specialized equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The Mechanic performspreventative maintenance, identifies mechanical issues, and conducts repairs in compliance withindustry standards and company policies.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on vehicles,trailers, and equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues using
appropriate tools and equipment.
Complete repairs including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, tires,steering, suspension, and small engines.
Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and equipmentstatus.
Ensure all company vehicles and equipment meet safety and operational
standards.
Order, track, and maintain inventory of tools, fluids, and repair parts.
Assist with emergency roadside repairs and service calls as needed.
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and regular servicing of
equipment and vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and manufacturer'sspecifications.
Communicate effectively with other mechanics, drivers, and management to
ensure efficient and effective repair and maintenance of our fleet.
Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety guidelines.
Other tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in fleet, construction, or landscaping industries.
- Current and valid Drivers License; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within a specified time frame.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic software, manuals, and repair tools effectively.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including occasional weekends or emergency call-outs.
- Must be able to work outdoors and in a shop environment under varying weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, organization, and attention to detail.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification.

Individualswho work in this position will be working outside and must be able to under varying and sometimeadverse weather conditions.
