Overview
We are seeking a skilled Installer to join our marine electronics company. We have been in business for over 20 years. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marine electronics and navigation systems, with hands-on experience in installation and troubleshooting and service repair. This role requires a commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction, as you will be responsible for installing various systems and equipment according to specifications. Commercial marine industry preferred but not required. NMEA, MEI certifications are a plus. Experience with installing Furuno, Seatronx, Simrad, Starlink, Nobeltec, Garmin products.

Duties

  • Perform installations of equipment and systems as per schematics and technical drawings.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on installed equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Pulling cables CAT5, etc.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as voltmeters for installation tasks.
  • Execute fabrication tasks including some soldering as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring satisfaction with installations.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, time sheets, parts, inventory, including any modifications or repairs made during the installation process.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and operating machinery.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a marine electronics installer is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical documents.
  • Experience in electrical systems is highly desirable
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Military experience may be advantageous for understanding technical operations.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
  • Professional, clean appearance. Closed toe shoes worn on job sites.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-oriented approach.
