POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining a maximum level of quality control in the supply, reprocessing and sterilization of instruments and supplies used in the Operating Room and patient care areas. Provides the Operating Room and other hospital departments with supplies requested and performs duties necessary for the provision of sterile supplies throughout the facility.
Special Considerations/Age Specifications: Age legend not applicable. This position has no responsibility for the assessment, treatment of care of patients. However, the ability to communicate and interact with patients of all ages is required.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have good English communication, both written and oral, skills
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.
