Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The role requires leading a self-contained classroom in an elementary school setting, providing tailored instruction to students with varying exceptionalities and learning levels.
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Duration: January 5, 2026 May 28, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day)
Setting: On-site only
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Manage a self-contained classroom environment supporting students with exceptionalities across varying learning levels.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to promote student growth and success.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain documentation of student progress as required by school and district policies.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education (ESE) certification.
- Florida General Education certification in K-6 or PK-3.
- Experience teaching in a self-contained elementary special education classroom preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams.
- Ability to work on-site full-time, following district and school guidelines.
